San Francisco, CA — September 15, 2009 — TechCrunch50
YourVersion won the TechCrunch50 People's Choice Award, selected by conference attendees from the 50 start-ups exhibiting in the DemoPit. Each of the 1,500 attendees were given one TC50 poker chip to vote for their favorite DemoPit company and YourVersion, a real-time discovery engine that launched at the conference, took the top honor.
YourVersion’s CEO & Founder, Dan Olsen, delivered the last presentation of the day on stage to a packed auditorium and TechCrunch50's Panel of Experts: Marissa Mayer, Marc Andreessen, Roelof Botha, Paul Graham, and Tony Hsieh. Olsen gave a demo of the YourVersion product, a personalized, real-time discovery engine that finds new, relevant content tailored to one's interests and makes it easy to bookmark and share that content.
Olsen said, "The YourVersion product is focused on providing the best possible user experience for real-time discovery. We have engaged our private beta users in over 80 one-on-one usability sessions, iteratively improving the product based on user feedback. As a result, the YourVersion discovery engine provides the best combination of relevance, recency, and a great user experience."
After the YourVersion demo, Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Product and User Experience at Google, commended the product stating, "I thought the attention to detail and the usability testing was really obvious." Leading tech blogger Robert Scoble tweeted: "Last session of day rocks. http://yourversion.com is now in my 'must try' list."
